Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six 3, Raven Shield PC Review

Gameplay: 9/10
Graphics: 9/10
Sound: 10/10
Replayablity: 8/10
Opinion: 7/10
Overall: 8.6/10 ( Excellent )

Gameplay: 9
In this game, you'll lead a group of elite Counter-terrorist units through over 10 missions, with a really big collection of guns ranging from Sub-Machines like UZIs or MP4s to Rifles like the M4 or M16A2. There is over 50 different guns with 20+ sidearm pistols, 4 types of grenades and ( I think ) 6 types of mines/expolsives and many more gadgets. Each and every firearm has it's own range, damage, to stablity.

The gadgets are a secondary weapon which could keep you alive. One of the gadgets is a Heartbeat Sensor to detect targets behind walls or doors. But there are Heartbeat Jammers to disable this sensors. My personal favorite way to kill other players online is to place a mine right at the foot of a door, hide somewhere and stay put. When the door is opened by another player, I trigger the mine to explode. This is one way to piss the players ( and you'll normally get killed early the next round )

Before each mission, you have to plan the path of each team. This is critical for surviving and winning the mission. One of the mission is a hostage rescue mission set in a bank in London. I tried to plan the whole way and I failed to keep 1/2 of the team alive, ended up loseing 6 members, leaving me and another alive. I highly recommend new players to use the plans that come with the game.

The gameplay is fast-paced and filled with firefights. All your teammates have 2 choices, get out alive or gets to kiss the ground forever. When a teammate dies, he/she will never return. The Terrorist AI is also quite smart. They patrol the area, sometimes investigating why was a door ajar or set up an ambush on unsuspecting prey ( you & your teammates ). Your teammate AI is fair, they are so accurate that they need just 5 bullets to kill a target. Though the terrorists are also extremely accurate, this is the challenge. You and any human in the game dies realistically. You can survive 2 to 4 bullets and never survive a Fragmentation Grenade blast. The humans also die realistically visually, explained in the "Graphics" section of this review.

Planning can be easy to just plain confusing

A rather excellent job. The levels are highly detailed and range from an open sniper shootout to a close combat party. All targets and you plus your teammates die realistically. They slump to the ground and sometime lean against a wall. This makes it truely nice. BUT humans don't die kissing their crotch. The old 'ragdoll' is so flexible that people folds when they die and 1 point off. So many players have altered the physics so that dead bodies have a backbone and aren't as flexible as acrobats. Some of the physics are spectacular. I shot one terrorist and he rolled down a flight of stairs before stopping at the end of it.

Your teammates and you are precious.

Sound: 10
Gotta love those gun fire. Realistic. The other realistic thing is the ringing of your ears. The game will simulate your ears ringing ( you know, when you hear something loud, you get this sharp sound in your ear ) during a gunfight. This ear ringing thing is so cool.

Replayablity: 8
After you complete the whole game, the game gets boring. Downloading new maps is the only option. Planning can get stale after a while. Though this game can last online, until another Counterstrike Killer is released.

Reviewer's Opinion: 7
Killing terrorists like SWAT to FBI most wanted is very fun. But there is none of those Bomb countdown and saving the VIP mission. If there were, it would be addictive. A mission creator would be most appricated too.
Gggrrr, I missed that guy, and he's mocking me by dodging my bullets The Matrix Style.

8.8/10
